Selmont Coaching was shaped by a simple observation.

In many situations, attention naturally settles on us - our decisions, our behaviour, or the role we appear to be playing. But when you step back, a broader picture often comes into view.

What’s taking place is usually an interaction between us and the systems around us a person and the systems around them. Those systems might be organisational, relational, cultural, or internal. They influence how situations unfold, how people respond, and where friction can arise.

Selmont was created to work with that wider perspective in mind.

What This Means in Practice

Coaching at Selmont focuses on both the individual and the context they are operating within.

This often brings a different kind of clarity. Situations begin to make more sense, patterns become easier to recognise, and decisions can be made with a clearer understanding of what is within your control and what is not.

The aim is not just to find solutions, but to understand the situation more fully before deciding how to move forward.

About Me

I’m Shama Kanwar - a coaching psychologist whose approach has been shaped by working across a range of professional, social, and personal environments. Over time, this has led me to look beyond the individual in isolation and consider the wider context people are part of, and how this shapes experience, behaviour, and decision-making.

My perspective is also informed by my own experience of navigating different cultural and professional environments in the UK, which has deepened my interest in how people make sense of themselves within them. I bring this lens into my work, offering a space that can support both reflection and practical forward movement, depending on what is needed.
